ASTM A514GrQ steel which has good weld ability, often used in offshore drilling platforms gear, rack steel. In the course of their work offshore drilling platform, the gear - rack mechanism responsible elevating work across platforms.
The max thickness of A514 Grade Q is 150mm. in the heat treatment, A514 Grade Q shall be heat treatment by the mill to conform to the tensile and hardness requirements by heating to not less 900 degree and quenching in water or oil, tempering at not less 620 degree.
