ASTM A131 AH32 is shipbuilding steel. Ship steel plate refers to hot-rolled steel plate used for the manufacture of hull structure according to the requirements of classification society rules. AH32 steel plate is mainly used for manufacturing ocean, coastal and inland waterway transport ship hull, deck, etc. The requirement for ship plate is very high because of it’s specifical usage. Good toughness is one of the most critical requirements, shipbuilding steel must have high strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability, processing forming performance and surface quality.
For AH32 steel, the Mn/C should be higher 2.5 and for the carbon equivalent, it also have strict requirements and shipbuilding steel plat e must be produced by steel mill approved by substituting department.
Hull structure steel is divided into general strength and high strength steel. General strength steel quality is divided into A, B, C, and D four grades, while high strength steel is divided into two levels and three quality grades:AH32、DH32、EH32、AH36、DH36、EH36
