ASTM A662 Grade A is a kind of Carbon Mn steel plates, for moderate and lower temperature service. ASTM A662 Grade A primarily for service in welded pressure vessels where improved low temperature notch toughness is important. The maximum thickness of plates is limited only by the capacity of the composition to meet the specified mechanical property requirements. Tensile properties such as tensile strength, yield strength and elongation shall be determined by subjecting the steel plates to a tension test.
