HI steel is ideally suited for elevated temperature service, is commonly found in the oil & gas, petrochemical and chemical industry. This European standard DIN 17155 grade steel has replaced the BS1501 and DIN17155 specification.
DIN 17155 HI steels grade are the Hot-rolled structural steel plate and sheet for making gas cylinders and gas vessels. It has excellent properties for deep drawing and welding and meets all the performance requirements for this application. And characterized by a minimum yield strength of 245 - 355 MPa and by good weld ability. The steel grades of this series are used for manufacturing gas cylinders by welding cold-formed parts together and normalizing the finished cylinder.
