How to select SA387 boiler steel material?

The size of the raw material used in the SA387 boiler steel plate rolling mill, that is, the thickness, width, and length of the raw material, directly affect the productivity of the rolling mill, the yield of the blank and the mechanical properties of the steel plate.
The selection of SA387 steel slab material considers the following 3 aspects:
(1) Ensure that the size and performance of the finished steel plate meet the requirements of use.
(2) It can give full play to the process conditions and equipment capabilities of the steel-making lathe and the thick plate workshop.
(3) The steel plate produced has the lowest cost.
 
The principle of raw material size selection for SA387 boiler plate rolling mill:
(1) The thickness of the raw material is as small as possible. The small thickness of the raw material is beneficial to the improvement of the productivity of the rolling mill and the heating furnace. However, in order to ensure the performance of the steel plate, the thickness of the raw material should meet the requirements of the steel plate compression ratio. The compression ratio of the continuous casting billet should be greater than 6-8.
(2) The width of the raw material is as large as possible. The wide raw material is beneficial to the operation of the rolling mill. In order to meet the requirements of the billet delivery operation during cross rolling, each rolling mill has a minimum raw material width limit, and raw materials smaller than this width cannot be sent to the rolling mill during cross rolling. Therefore, the width of the raw material should be greater than this value. The larger the width of the raw material, the easier the operation during cross rolling.
(3) The length of the raw material should be as close as possible to the maximum allowable size of the raw material. When the length of the raw material is equal to the lower limit of the allowable charging length of the heating furnace, the bottom area of the steel press furnace is the smallest, so the production capacity is the smallest. At this time, the unit combustion consumption of the heating furnace is larger. When the length of the raw material is equal to the upper limit of the allowable charging length of the heating furnace, the bottom area of the steel press furnace is the largest and its production capacity is the largest. At this time, the unit fuel consumption is small. When the length of the rolled piece increases, the proportion of the cutting head and the tail decreases, so that the yield rate is high, so the yield rate of high-quality raw materials is high.
