1030 is suitable to manufacture parts which cross section is small, stress is small and working temperature is less 150 ℃ using hot forging, hot pressing and cutting method, such as wire rod, tie rod, shaft key, rings, gear, sleeve, ect. Cutting performance is good, so 1035 is widely used for bolts, screws, etc on the automatic machine processing.ASTM1035 can also be applied to manufacturing cold upset forging parts and components. 1030 also can be used for carburizing, carbonitriding, etc.
